Terms of use

1. Introduction

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of træv, including our app, website, and related services.

træv is a social friend-network app. It helps users become aware of approximate social proximity, overlaps, or presence with friends.

træv is not a live location tracking app. It must not be used for emergency, safety-critical, surveillance, stalking, or real-time tracking purposes.

By creating an account or using træv, you agree to these Terms and confirm that you have read our Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, you must not use træv.

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or use træv.

Users under 16 may not use træv, even with parental permission, unless we later change this rule.

You must provide accurate age information. During registration we ask for your year of birth to check this. We may suspend or delete your account if we reasonably believe that you are under 16 or provided false age information.

5. Account registration and security

To use træv, you may need to create an account.

You must provide accurate and current account information. You must not create fake accounts, impersonate another person, share your account, or use another person’s account.

We may use technical identifiers, public keys, encryption-related identifiers, and other security measures to provide and protect træv.

træv helps users become aware of approximate social proximity, presence, or overlap with friends.

Depending on the available features, træv may allow you to:

træv is designed around a privacy-conscious and data-sparse concept. Some features may rely on processing on your device or cryptographic exchange between users’ devices.

However, træv still operates supporting infrastructure. We do not claim that all data stays only on your device or that træv never processes personal data. Details are explained in the Privacy Policy.

7. Contacts and friend discovery

træv may offer contact or friend-discovery features to help you find people you know.

If you choose to provide contact access, træv may process information such as names, phone numbers, or technical contact-matching identifiers.

You confirm that you have the right or permission required to provide contact information to træv.

You must not provide contact information in a way that violates another person’s rights or applicable law.

You can manage contact permissions through your device settings and, where available, app settings.

8. Location, presence, and proximity

træv may offer location, presence, or proximity features. These features are intended to provide approximate social context within a friend network.

træv does not provide precise live-location tracking.

Location or presence features should be off by default after registration and must be actively enabled by the user.

You may be able to provide profile content, such as your name, profile picture, city, or status.

You are responsible for your profile content. You must not provide content that is unlawful, misleading, infringing, abusive, discriminatory, privacy-invasive, or harmful.

You keep ownership of your content. You allow træv to host, process, display, and transmit your content as needed to provide and operate the service.

12. Messages and technical delivery

træv may use encrypted delivery and a relay to exchange proximity information.

Delivery of proximity exchanges or technical signals is not guaranteed. They may be delayed, lost, unavailable, duplicated, blocked, or fail.

Encryption protects specific payloads. Account and network information used to deliver them is not invisible to træv. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

13. Third-party services

Some features may rely on third-party services, such as:

14. Paid features

træv may offer paid features, subscriptions, premium modes, invite-based access, or other paid products.

If paid features are offered, we will provide the relevant price, billing period, renewal terms, cancellation rules, payment method, and consumer withdrawal information before purchase, where required by law.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data.

It covers topics such as account data, contacts, location and proximity signals, friend connections, logs, analytics, retention, deletion, and user rights.

These Terms govern your use of træv. The Privacy Policy governs the explanation of data processing.

16. Availability and beta features

træv may be early-stage, experimental, or beta-like.

We do not guarantee that træv will be uninterrupted, error-free, accurate, secure from all risks, or available at all times.

Features may change, break, be limited, or be discontinued. We may make urgent changes without prior notice where needed for security, legal compliance, abuse prevention, or service integrity.

17. Suspension and termination

You may stop using træv at any time. Where available, you may delete your account through the app or by contacting support@traev.app.

We may suspend, restrict, or delete your account if we reasonably believe that:

18. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where this is not allowed by law. This includes liability for intentional misconduct, gross negligence, injury to life, body, or health, mandatory statutory liability, and mandatory consumer rights.

Subject to the above, træv is liable only according to applicable law.

19. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, we may notify you in the app, by email, or through another appropriate channel. We may require you to accept updated Terms before continuing to use træv.

20. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise.

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you may have mandatory rights under the laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms limits those rights.
